Move over bacon - beef "Schmacon" is almost here!

A lighter, leaner version of bacon made of beef will be available in retail stores in the US by the end of this year. "Schmacon" looks like bacon and gets crispy like bacon, according to the Beef Checkoff. The best news? A serving contains 30 calories (bacon 60-90), 2 grams of fat (4.5-7 for bacon) & 60 mg sodium (bacon: 190-360).  Read the story on Meat.Poultry.com and hope it makes it north of the 49th too.
